Juan Eduardo Gómez was born in Bogotá, Colombia, and lives and works in New York City. He received a BFA in Fine Arts at the School of Visual Arts in New York City and the Richard and Hilda Rosenthal Foundation Award for painting from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. His work has been written about in Art in America, The New York Times, The New York Sun, ArtNexus, and Zingmagazine. His paintings are in the permanent collections of the High Museum of Art, Museum of Fine Arts Boston, Colby Museum of Art, Albright-Knox Museum, Hispanic Society of America, Farnsworth Art Museum, Bowdoin College Museum of Art, Dikeou Collection, and The San Antonio Museum of Art.
